Important Note: All entries must have been broadcasted in the 2009 calendar year.

BEST CREATIVE

Best Creative Award recognizes the excellence in writing, production and talent.  One winner will be chosen from Television and one winner from Radio.  Submissions may include commercials, promos or psa’s, which are no longer than 60 seconds. You may enter a single spot or campaign.  Please restrict campaign entries to no more than 3 spots or promos.

BEST STATION ID’S

Best Station ID’s recognizes the excellence in writing and production of station ID’s.  Best Station ID’s exemplifies the station’s ability to connect with their target audience and establish a brand identity in a creative and compelling  way.   Maximum length of entry: 60 seconds

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The Community Service Award recognizes a station’s strength and ability to make a difference in their community. Submissions will reflect a station’s efforts in dealing with a subject that benefits the community.  This may involve fund raising, promotion of a community event, station initiated community projects and/or campaigns promoting the awareness of work done within a community.  Maximum length of entry: 3 minutes

EXCELLENCE IN NEWS REPORTING

This award recognizes excellence in the field of reporting and public affairs.  Submissions may include coverage of a single event or in-depth analysis pertaining to an on-going public issue or news story. Maximum length of entry: 5 minutes

BROADCAST PERFORMER OF TOMORROW

This award will be presented to the individual who has been actively employed in the broadcast industry for less than 5 years and who shows potential to play a significant role as an on-air performer.  Please provide on-air samples.  Total submission should not exceed 5 minutes.  Nominations are open to any BCAB member station or associate member of the BCAB.  Multiple nominations are accepted.  There is no charge for this entry.  Nominations must be submitted by the station President, General Manager or Program Director.

PERFORMER OF THE YEAR

This award is presented to the individual who has consistently demonstrated the following characteristics in the execution of their on-air performance: Innovation, creativity, determination, involvement and excellence.  Please provide on-air samples.  Total submission should not exceed 5 minutes.  Nominations may be made from any member station or associate member of the BCAB.  There is no charge for this entry.  Multiple nominees are permissible.  Nominations must be submitted by the station President, General Manager or Program Director.

BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR

This award is presented to an individual who is employed in a “behind-the-scenes” capacity at BCAB member station.  The individual will have set a high standard of excellence in the broadcast industry and will have made a significant contribution to their station of employment and to broadcasting as a whole.  Eligible recipients of this award will be those who work in any “behind-the-scenes” capacity whether it be at the executive level, technical crew, sales, production, marketing & promotion, creative or administration.  Nominations may be made from any member station or associate member of the BCAB.  There is no charge for this entry.  Multiple nominees are permissible.  Nominations must be submitted by the station President, General Manager or Program Director.
